Central Washington's economy runs on agriculture. Our farmers feed the nation and the world, but reckless trade policy, water insecurity, and rising costs threaten the foundation of our communities.

John will fight to:

  • Remove harmful tariffs that hurt our farmers and raise prices for consumers

  • Protect irrigation and water rights for agricultural producers

  • Ensure the Farm Bill works for small and mid-size operations, not just corporate agriculture

  • Support programs that help the next generation of farmers get started

  • Defend agricultural labor access, our farms need workers, and immigration policy must reflect that

Jobs & Affordability

  • Working families in the 4th District are being squeezed by rising costs, stagnant wages, and an economy that rewards the wealthy while leaving everyone else behind.

  • John will fight to:

    • Protect good-paying Hanford cleanup jobs and federal employment in the region

    • Lower the cost of housing, groceries, and healthcare

    • Invest in infrastructure - roads, bridges, broadband - that creates jobs and connects communities

    • Raise the federal minimum wage so work actually pays

    • Rebuild trust in labor unions and protect workers' right to organize

    • Reform the tax code to close loopholes like stepped-up basis and carried interest

Healthcare Access

No one in Central Washington should have to drive 100 miles to see a doctor or go bankrupt because of a medical emergency. But that's the reality for too many families in our district.

John will fight to:

  • Keep rural hospitals open and funded

  • Restore and expand ACA subsidies to make insurance affordable

  • Protect Medicare and Medicaid from cuts

  • Lower prescription drug costs

  • Move toward universal healthcare access so coverage doesn't depend on your employer or your ZIP code

Veterans & Service

John doesn't just talk about supporting veterans, he is one. As a retired Air Force Major with three combat deployments, he knows the VA system from the inside.

John will fight to:

  • Improve VA healthcare based on what veterans actually experience, not what politicians imagine

  • Reduce wait times and improve mental health services

  • Ensure veterans transition to civilian life have real support, jobs, housing, and education

  • Hold the VA accountable and protect the dedicated employees who serve veterans every day

Government Accountability

Americans are tired of politicians who serve themselves instead of their constituents. John signed the Take BAC Congress pledge because he believes elected officials should be held to a higher standard.

John supports:

  • Congressional term limits

  • A lobbying moratorium after leaving office

  • Banning Congressional stock trading

  • Overturning Citizens United to get dark money out of politics

  • Supreme Court ethics reform

  • Protecting Social Security from politicians who want to cut or privatize it

Protecting Federal Workers

John spent his career in federal service. He's seen firsthand the dedication of civil servants, and the damage done when politicians treat them as disposable. What happened under DOGE should never happen again.

John will fight to:

  • Protect federal employees from politically motivated mass firings

  • Ensure Hanford workers and federal employees across the district have job security

  • Oppose any effort to gut the civil service for political purposes

  • Strengthen whistleblower protections for federal workers who speak up
